End of China week

China week!
In school this week, we have been celebrating 'China week' to mark the start of the Chinese new year. All our lessons have been based around this theme and it has been very interesting to learn about Chinese culture. Year 2 have been keeping a diary about all the activities they have been involved in. These will be placed on the blog next week by the pupils, so make sure you read them when they do!

Some of the activities included:
  • Learning about the Zodiac story and then performing it in groups
  • Making new year cards and lucky money envelopes
  • Learning how to count in Chinese
  • Making paper fish to bring us good wealth.
Here are some pictures of the pupils during China week.
The pupils are making lucky Chinese envelopes and cards.

These are the lucky fish the pupils made. They worked very hard to make these and they look wonderful. You can see them in the window of our classroom.

Here, the pupils are creating their own synchronised Chinese dance.

Make sure you read our next blog to see the video of our Zodiac story performance!

What an interesting looking week! I really like the fish in the window - do you feel like you are going to school underwater?

We are doing lots of blogging too, and we would love it if you had a look and made a comment or two.
