Thank-you to all those parents who attended our class talk this morning. We hope you found it useful. If you were unable to attend but would like to discuss any information with us please feel free to pop in anytime to see one of the Year 2 team.
This week we learnt about the Great Fire of London which we all found really interesting. We listened to a story about how the fire started and how a man called Samuel Pepys kept a diary of events of the fire. In Numeracy, we have been learning how to add and subtract using a hundred square. We also started some work on partitioning which means splitting the number into tens and units. We began to think about how we can use partitioning to add two numbers together.
In Literacy, we looked at how we can use full stops and capital letters in our writing and connectives to make our sentences more interesting by adding extra information.
This week we learnt the sound 'sh'. Next week we will be learning the sound 'th'
Information about the Great Fire of London homework project will be put up on the blog shortly. The curriculum overview will also be up on the website soon under the Autumn term part. Please ask us if you need any clarification with any homework.
Have a good weekend, see you all Monday,
Mr. Merchant
