Arts Week

This week we have been busy making things for arts week!

We made sunglasses out of card and coloured cellophane, sea creatures using model magic (a substance a bit like clay) beach scenes using paint and coloured pens, ice lollys using card and a lollypop stick, ice creams using card and cotton wool and we even had a chance to ice some cakes! What a busy week!

In Literacy, we have been thinking about instruction writing. We learnt what a recipe was and what the words method, ingredients and equipment mean. In Numeracy we have been reminding ourselves of the best methods to use when we are multiplying numbers together.

Next week, we will be starting some work on dividing numbers.

Have a good weekend and enjoy the sun!

Sealife Centre Visit - Wednesday 16th June

Year 2 had a great time when they visited the Sealife centre this week.

Please take a look at the video below to see some of the things that we saw and the fun that we had! (Please make sure that you have your sound turned up!)

Number Challenge Day and Masks!

We had a great number challenge day. First we learnt about digital time. Mr. Merchant put some digital times around the hall and called out a time or a time question. Then, we had to run to the correct time. We also did some parachute games using number calculations. After playtime, we did a maths trail and had to go around the school finding the questions and answering them. At the end the correct answers spelt the name of a shape.

In the afternoon, we sang some number songs and did some time trials in P.E.
Earlier in the week we finished making our masks and we think we look very good in them! Enjoy the photographs!

We are all looking forward to our trip to the Sealife Centre on Wednesday :-) Please remember to bring in 2 pounds for a goody bag if possible before the day.

Thank-you,
Mr. Merchant and 2M
